bug parsing auction title

hi i've been trying to place a snipe for this yahoo auctions item: 15827858 but the system returns an error, there's a '++' in the auction title that seems to confuse the parser.
can you fix it?
thanks!

Hi soulofbritton,

First of all, welcome on board! I have to say that we are very pleased to finally count a yahoo! auctions tester in the ranks. While our Delcampe and eBay modules have been extensively tested and are now essentially bug-free, I have to say that our yahoo! auctions module has not received much attention from our testers so far. That makes your experience extremely valuable to us, so I thank you for sharing and reporting this problem you found.

Anyways, that said... I will work on it now and get back to you as soon as a fix is online, hopefully within the hour.

Hi soulofbritton,

We frequently have people who place bids on several auctions that end the very same second, that's really not a problem.

As I said, placing bids on Yahoo! auctions has not been very much tested yet, so I will certainly have a close look at your missions and see how they work.

Thank you again for taking the time to test our service!

Bahness...

The good news is that the object checker (the bit that sends you e-mail alerts when you get outbid etc...) seems to be working ok. The bad news is that Snippy's didn't get to log you in. It looks like a few things have changed since our preliminary testings, and I will have to adjust the code to the new stuff.

I will do my best to get it fixed for your next bids. Sorry for that miss, the drawback of being the first tester on yahoo :-(

EDIT: Typo

OK, fixes are up.

I also ran some dummy tests which all went good for me, so I am confident your bid will actually get placed this time.

Good luck with your missions!

Well, it looks like Snippy's worked as intended this time. Of course things got complicated by the fact that those sales were automatically extended on late bids... but your scheduled bids were placed on the initially scheduled time, so everything is fine in Snippy's land.

Congrats for your hard won sales!

Hi, congratulations it worked! I was a bit scared that it could fail, so i manually bidded on the 2 more interesting auction. On the third my bid was successfully placed.
I didnt know about auction extension... and couldnt understand how exactly it works.. is the seller to choose manually if and how long to extend or is it automatically done?
thx!

Hi,

I do not really know how it works for yahoo! auctions, so my answer will be general, based on what I know about automatic extension and the other auctions sites we work with.

When a seller puts his object up for sale, he can define a few parameters like the initial price and duration etc... He can also choose a few options, among which the automatic extension. When this feature is set, the auction site will automatically extend the sale when a bidder puts an offer in the last minutes. To be more specific I would say that yahoo! auctions extends the sale by an extra 10 minutes after the last bid when this was placed within the last 5 minutes of sale, but I'm not too sure about the figures. Maybe digging into the yahoo FAQ's would give more accurate numbers. Maybe even the numbers can be adjusted by th seller when he sets up the sale...

So, the short answer is that the seller does definitely choose wether or not the extension feature is on. I don't really know if he got to choose the specific timings for it - probably not.

Our plan is to handle this case more properly in a future release of Snippy's. For now, Snippy's just behaves like if there was no extension, i.e. it places the bid according to the initial schedule, which will more than likely trigger the extension thing if there is one set up on the auction. So if you do not want Snippy's to trigger the extension thing, you will have to put a longer buffer...
